This is the second release of this album on CD in the US. It came in a long box or blister pack. Unlike Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome, the first release, this edition was made by WEA Manufacturing in the US and a "3" (Atlantic) prefix in the matrix, indicating a release date no earlier than mid-1987, despite the 1984 and 1985 dates printed on the release. Around 1989–1990, after PolyGram took over Island, some copies of this edition were distributed with a sticker over the original barcode, giving it a new barcode & Category (422-824 052-2), yet the spine still showed the 7 90232-2 number. Then Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome, a new edition, was manufactured by PolyGram, exclusively bearing the new barcode and Category.Category on spine: 7 90232-2

The master index on the back cover is inaccurate; the actual tracks are shown here. The CD mix differs from the LP in the following ways: "Well…" is not listed as a track; "Two Tribes" is the 'Annihilation' 12" mix instead of the 3:22 'for the victims of ravishment' LP version; the B-sides "The Last Voice" and "Happy Hi" are added; and several recordings are omitted: the songs "Ferry (Go)" and "San Jose", the orgasm discussion at the end of "Two Tribes", and the "life goes on day after day…" vocal overdub on "Snatch Of Fury (Stay)".
