Created during the pre-remix album stage of H3X's career, The Other Side was almost abandoned after H3X decided to move away from making his own music. The release of The Other Side helped H3X find his potential, as he later went on to produce singles such as Time and Apathy.

The Other Side was removed from online distribution stores (such as Spotify, Google Play & iTunes) in June 2016 after a new policy at Polyosis was created which got H3X to remove all music from these stores, but in July 2016, it was announced it would be re-released online.
