"This recording of the Verdi REQUIEM reproduces the actual performance of the work in Carnegie Hall, January 27, 1951, before a capacity audience within the auditorium and a nationwide radio audience which heard it via the network facilities of the National Broadcasting Company. The recording was made possible by the cooperation of the American Federation of Musicians, which arranged for RCA Victor technicians and engineers to set up microphones on stage at Carnegie Hall and record the actual performance."
