THE VIOLIN AND THE HUMAN VOICE
Mozart wrote his last violin concerto at the age of 19. Perhaps his later abandonment of the violin concerto can be traced to Mozart's relentless father - himself a violinist - who had hawked his children to the courts of Europe as if they were a pair of talented monkeys. But with the growing affection for the human voice, Mozart fills thises later works for voilin and orchestra with the feeling that they can be as easily sung as played.
